OUR STORY
It all started with fifty two rows of vines and a vision to create something unique
Handcrafted wine from a stunning location
Fifty Two Rows is a secluded two hectare property at the top of Red Hill on the Mornington Peninsula. Surrounded by bushland, the two north facing vineyards and private cellar door, are located at 120 metres above sea level. Established in 1991, with a nod to the vineyards of Burgundy, our 52 rows of close planted vines are over 30 years old, producing wine with complexity and depth of flavour.
The vineyard was purchased in 2021, and over the past two years we have worked with local industry experts, getting really hands on, and investing into the property to produce quality wine from this beautiful location.
Rebranding as Fifty Two Rows, we wanted to emphasise our focus on the production of superior quality, small batch, single vineyard wine. Our approach acknowledges the original vision of founders John and Leonie Salmons, who meticulously planted the vineyard, whilst placing our own stamp on shaping it’s future.
Our winemakers are the renowned and highly skilled Rick McIntyre and Jeremy Magyar, who understand our philosophy and support our mission. As a team we work ‘hand in glove’ throughout every stage of vintage.
We are building something unique and we invite you to join us in shaping the next chapter of our vineyard’s story.
