It all started with fifty two rows of vines and a vision to create something unique.
We are a family-owned vineyard located in Red Hill, nestled on the beautiful Mornington Peninsula. Our passion is handcrafting exquisite Pinot Noir with the help of talented local winemakers.
Our single vineyard Pinot Noir is produced from 30 year old, close planted vines, that grow on a north facing slope, surrounded by bushland, in the heart of Red Hill South. Our wine is meticulously handcrafted and aged in French oak to deliver red fruit flavours combined with spicy aromas and a long smooth finish.
Fifty Two Rows Pinot Noir is a small batch wine that competes with the best. Like our beautiful family owned vineyard, this wine is best enjoyed with food and friends.
The Vineyard

Our boutique north facing vineyard, is in a hidden valley in the Red Hill hinterland surrounded by stunning natural bushland.
Following the French style of close planting, our 52 rows of Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier vines were cultivated over 30 years ago, capitalising on well drained basalt soils. The wine is made only from our grapes, not purchased from or blended with grapes from other vineyards.
Our single vineyard approach ensures that our vines are attentively nurtured and that each vintage is diligently managed by our owners, vineyard management team and winemakers to deliver a handcrafted, unique and high quality wine.

Converted from a cow paddock in 1991, the original owners John and Leonie Salmons selected the site for the north facing aspect, the basalt soil and the protection offered by the hidden valley. The Salmons handplanted over 5000 vines on two sites in the vineyard, a smaller one up the hill and the main vineyard in the valley.
Producing small batch Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier, the Salmons achieved success in James Halliday’s Australian Wine Companion in the early 2000’s across several vintages.
The Wine

Crafted by revered wine makers Rick McIntyre and Jeremy Magyar, this vintage was matured in french oak barrels, with 20% new oak for a period of 10 months.
A single vineyard wine, produced from Pinot Noir grapes blended with a small amount of our Pinot Meunier crop. Light red and translucent in colour the wine offers a bouquet of red cherries and dark berries with a hint of blended spice.
Described as ‘very french’ by an expert, this wine is both complex and elegant.

A single vineyard wine, produced from Pinot Noir grapes from both our ‘up the hill’ and ‘valley’ vineyards. Presenting with depth of colour, a perfect mix of deep cherry and berry flavours, a touch more spice is present in this vintage.
A beautiful wine, already drinking well. This wine offers complexity with a silken finish.
